The following rules apply for carry on luggage on different classes-
First & Business Class passengers are allowed -
One bag (maximum dimensions 55 x 40 x 30 cms or 22 x 16 x 12 inches),
Or
One garment carrier (maximum width 20cms or 8 inches),
Plus
One briefcase (maximum dimensions 45 x 40 x 30 cms or 18 x 14 x 8 inches).
Total weight: 9 kgs
Economy Class passengers are allowed -
One bag (maximum dimensions 45 x 40 x 30 cms or 17 x 15 x 12 inches)
Total weight: 6 kgs
Passengers traveling from the UK are allowed 1 piece of carry on baggage. The bag must not exceed the following dimensions: 45 x 35 x 16 cms. A musical instrument may be carried separately if it does not fit into the cabin bag. Laptops can be carried as part of the hand baggage.
Infant (All Classes):
One bag (maximum dimensions 44 x 35 x 20 cms or 18 x 14 x 8 inches)
Total weight: 3 kgs

| Checked Baggage Allowance |
The following checked baggage rules apply for travel in different classes of service-
First Class passengers- 40 kgs
Business Class passengers- 30 kgs
Economy Class passengers- 20 kgs
If you are a member of the Gulf Air Frequent flyer programme, you enjoy an extra baggage allowance over and above the allowance shown on your ticket, free of charge. The allowances when travelling with flights operated by Gulf Air are-
Blue - 10 kgs
Silver – 15kgs
Gold – 20 kgs |

| Sports Equipment |
One golf bag containing clubs and one pair of golf shoes up to a maximum weight of 15 kgs will be charged at the rate equivalent to six kilos of excess baggage. Any bag weighing more than 15 kgs will be charged at the normal excess baggage rate.
If the weight of the bag is within the free allowance weight for the customer no charge will be made.
As per IATA Regulations, no single piece of baggage may weigh more than 32 kgs. If it does, you will be asked to repack the bag.
If you are travelling on a codeshare service operated by American Airlines to and from the USA or Canada, then a piece concept exists. This means you are allowed to carry two bags, with a maximum weight for each bag of 23 kgs, regardless of class of travel. |
