| Checked Baggage Allowance |
The following checked baggage rules apply based on the Weight and Piece systems.
Under the weight system-
Business Class passengers can carry up to 30 kg of checked baggage.
Economy Class passengers are entitled to 20 kg of checked baggage.
Under the piece system (applicable on flights to/from the US and Canada)-
Business Class passengers can check up to 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing not more than 70lb/32kg and not exceeding the total dimension of 62 linear inches.
Economy Class passengers are entitled to 2 pieces of baggage, each weighing not more than 70lb/32kg and not exceeding 62 linear inches. Also, the sum of total dimensions of the two bags must not exceed 107 inches/ 273cm |
| Excess Baggage Rules |
Additional charges apply for baggage exceeding the limits of free allowance.
Under the Weight system:
Excess baggage shall be charged for per kilogram at the rate of 1.5% of the highest normal direct adult one-way economy class fare.
Under the Piece system:
One applicable unit rate shall apply to-
Each exceeding piece of baggage or each oversized piece of which the total dimensions exceed 62 linear inches/158 cm but within 80 linear inches/203 cm
A double applicable unit rate shall apply to-
Each piece exceeding the number of pieces allowed and total dimensions exceeding 62 linear inches/158 cm but within 80 linear inches/203 cm
For baggage exceeding 32 kg and 80 linear inches-
Arrangement must be made in advance between baggage owner and carrier.
The baggage shall be weighed and charged 3 times the applicable unit rate if its weight is 45 kg or lower. Otherwise, each additional 10 kg or fraction thereof, one additional unit rate shall be charged. |
